Description

The ASR 1002-X is a fixed-configuration, 2RU WAN aggregation router from the Cisco ASR 1000 family. It suits enterprise WAN edge and multiservice IPsec VPN headend roles, as well as managed CPE and service provider edge or aggregation deployments. The route processor, ESP and SIP are integrated in the chassis, and the router runs Cisco IOS XE.

This SKU is the K9 bundle with the 10 Gbps performance licence and the AES technology package. System throughput is 10 Gbps, stepped up from the 5 Gbps default through the FLSA1-2X-5-10G performance upgrade licence. Connectivity is provided by 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 3 SPA slots, and the router uses a quad-core route processor with 4 GB of DRAM shared across the route processor, ESP and SIP. The bundle covers the Universal IOS XE image and the FLASR1-AES technology package licence only. IPS and firewall feature licences are not part of this bundle.

The 3 SPA slots accept shared port adapters, and the 6 built-in ports need Gigabit Ethernet SFP optics. DRAM is upgradable, and higher performance tiers are available through licence upgrades.
