Description

The ASR 9902 is a compact 2RU Cisco IOS XR aggregation router that delivers up to 800 Gbps of nonblocking full-duplex capacity. This ASR-9902-FC is the Flexible Consumption Model chassis, aimed at business PE, metro aggregation, internet peering, Data Center Interconnect, BNG and mobile edge deployments in 4G and 5G networks.

Port density is 2 QSFP-DD and 6 QSFP28 ports (10/40/100GbE), 16 SFP28 dual-rate ports (10/25GbE) and 24 SFP+ ports (10GbE LAN or WAN OTN), with MACsec supported on all ports. The chassis has two redundant Route Processors, an integrated switch fabric and three redundant fans, and takes up to two 1.6 kW AC or DC power modules in 1+1 redundancy. AC and DC modules cannot be mixed. The Route Processor carries 32GB of DDR4 memory.

As a Flexible Consumption SKU, software is licensed per capacity through RTU licences (Edge Essentials or Edge Advantage) with a software subscription, rather than the separate feature licences used by the traditional ASR-9902. Related parts include the A99-RP-F-FC route processor, PWR-1.6KW-AC and PWR-1.6KW-DC power modules and the ASR-9902-FAN.
