Description

The ASR 920 is a temperature-hardened, 1RU converged access router built for mobile backhaul, Metro and Carrier Ethernet access, broadband aggregation and business services. This DC-powered 4SZ model suits remote access sites, small central offices and sealed outdoor cabinets, where its compact 43.7 x 393.7 x 243.8 mm chassis fits space-constrained ETSI 300 mm deep enclosures.

It provides 2 x 1GbE and 4 x 10GbE ports using SFP and SFP+ optics. Power comes from two redundant, built-in DC supplies with an input range of -19.2 V DC to -72 V DC, drawing 105 W maximum and 75 W typical. Airflow is front-to-back and the operating range extends from -40 to +70 C, depending on altitude and the optics fitted. It runs Cisco IOS XE Software, with features such as MPLS and additional 1G/10G port capacity activated through a pay-as-you-grow licensing model.

Timing support includes SyncE and IEEE 1588, with BITS, 1PPS and ToD interfaces for mobile and RAN synchronisation. It works with Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, CWDM/DWDM and 10G SFP/SFP+ optics, including SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, GLC-SX-MMD and SFP-H10GB-CUxM cables, from IOS XE 3.13. Optional rack-mount kits are A920-RCKMT-ETSI, A920-RCKMT-19 and A920-RCKMT-23.
