Description

The ASR 920 is a temperature-hardened, 1RU Carrier Ethernet aggregation router built for mobile backhaul, Metro Ethernet access and aggregation, broadband and IPTV aggregation, and business services with 10GE UNI. It suits space-constrained and sealed outdoor cabinet deployments, with front-to-back airflow and a compact design suited to ETSI 300 mm deep locations.

This model provides 12 x 1/10GE SFP/SFP+ ports and dual built-in DC power supplies accepting -19.2V to -72V DC (nominal -24V to -48V DC). The chassis is a fixed 1RU unit running Cisco IOS XE, with a family operating range of -40 C to +70 C depending on altitude and optics used. Pay-as-you-grow licensing activates additional 1G/10G ports and features such as MPLS and 10GE services on demand.

The router supports MPLS in the access layer with L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS and H-VPLS, plus hierarchical QoS. Integrated timing covers BITS, 1PPS, ToD, SyncE and IEEE-1588. It works with Cisco Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, CWDM/DWDM and 10GE SFP+ optics such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, GLC-SX-MMD, GLC-LH-SMD, SFP-GE-T, DWDM-SFP10G and SFP-H10GB-CUxM, and is managed with Cisco Prime for EPN.
