Description

The ASR 920 Series is a compact, temperature-hardened aggregation services router built for mobile backhaul, Carrier Ethernet access and business services. This fixed AC-powered model suits metro aggregation, small central-office and cabinet deployments, and remote sites where space and environmental tolerance matter.

It provides twelve 1/10GE SFP/SFP+ ports in a 1 RU chassis with front-to-back airflow and two built-in power supplies. AC input covers 85-264 V AC at 47-63 Hz, and the operating range runs from -40C to +70C up to 1,000 ft (300 m). Timing is handled through BITS, 1PPS and ToD interfaces with SyncE and IEEE 1588 support, and the router runs Cisco IOS XE. A Carrier Ethernet ASIC delivers hierarchical QoS with 8 queues per service and 3 levels of scheduling. Port and feature activation follows a pay-as-you-grow licensing model.

It supports a wide range of Cisco SFP and SFP+ optics, including 1G SX/LH/ZX modules, CWDM/DWDM, 10GBASE-SR/LR/ER/ZR, BiDi variants and SFP-H10GB-CU direct attach cables. ETSI, 19-inch and 23-inch rack-mount kits are available separately.
