Description

The ASR 920 Series is a compact 1RU Carrier Ethernet and converged access router built for mobile backhaul, Metro Ethernet and business services. This PD variant is suited to small aggregation sites and sealed or ETSI-depth cabinets where a temperature-hardened platform is needed.

It provides 10x 1GE SFP access ports and 2x 10GE SFP+ uplink ports, running Cisco IOS XE. The platform supports MPLS with L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS and H-VPLS, hierarchical QoS with eight queues per service, and Carrier Ethernet OAM. Timing is handled by integrated BITS, 1PPS and ToD interfaces with SyncE and IEEE-1588 support. Ports and features are activated through Cisco's pay-as-you-grow licensing model, and the operating range extends from -40 C to +70 C depending on altitude and optics.

The router accepts a wide range of Cisco FE, GE and 10G SFP and SFP+ optics, including extended-temperature, BiDi, CWDM and DWDM modules and SFP-H10GB-CUxM direct-attach cables. Optional ETSI, 19-inch and 23-inch rack-mount kits are available, and the platform can be managed with Cisco Prime for EPN.
