Description

The ASR 903 is a modular 3RU aggregation router chassis from the Cisco ASR 900 Series. It is built for service-provider and mobile backhaul aggregation, carrier Ethernet access and aggregation, and converged packet and TDM or legacy circuit services in cell-site and metro access networks.

This SKU is the chassis only. Route Switch Processors and power supplies are ordered separately. The chassis supports redundant RSPs, with one active and one hot standby, and the RSP is a field-replaceable, online-insertable unit. Compatible RSPs are the A903-RSP1A-55, A903-RSP1B-55, A900-RSP2A-64, A900-RSP2A-128, A900-RSP3C-200-S and A900-RSP3C-400-S, delivering up to 480 Gbps of interface throughput with the RSP3C-400. Power options are AC (550W, 1200W) and DC (900W, 1200W) supplies. The chassis is NEBS Level 3 compliant and operates from -40 to 65 C with suitable power supplies.

It runs Cisco IOS XE using universal consolidated software packages, with the package depending on the RSP fitted. A range of 1GE, 10GE and TDM interface modules plug into the chassis, with module support varying by RSP and slot. Network synchronisation is supported, including GNSS, IEEE 1588-2008 and the G.826x family of standards.

A: No. This SKU is the ASR 903 chassis only. The RSP and power supplies are ordered separately, along with any interface modules.

Q: Which Route Switch Processors work with the ASR 903?
A: The A903-RSP1A-55, A903-RSP1B-55, A900-RSP2A-64, A900-RSP2A-128, A900-RSP3C-200-S and A900-RSP3C-400-S. The small form factor A900-RSP3C-400-S is the one used in the ASR 903.

Q: What power supply options are available?
