Description

The ASR 902U is a compact 2RU modular aggregation services router chassis in the Cisco ASR 900 family. It is built for small aggregation sites and remote point-of-presence deployments, including mobile backhaul and converged access, where L2VPN and L3VPN services are required in a small footprint.

The chassis provides one Route Switch Processor slot and four interface module slots numbered 0 to 3. It is the ASR 900U series chassis and supports the RSP2A from Cisco IOS XE 16.6.1. Power supplies, the fan tray, the RSP and interface modules are all accessed from the front panel, and interface modules, power supplies and the fan tray support online insertion and removal. Cooling is side-to-side forced air with a single fan tray that provides fan redundancy.

Timing support covers SyncE, TDM, BITS, 1PPS, 10 MHz and IEEE 1588-2008 timing over packet, with two dry-contact alarm inputs for site monitoring. The chassis works with ASR 900 Series interface modules and the RSP2A and RSP3 family, and the A900-CM-GNSS module is available on RSP3. It runs Cisco IOS XE.
