Description

The ASR 902 is a compact modular chassis in the ASR 900 Series aggregation router family. It is aimed at service provider aggregation and edge routing, including mobile backhaul and cell-site deployments, where a small footprint and interchangeable modules are needed.

The chassis is built around a modular design. It pairs with RSP3C (A900-RSP3C-200-S), RSP2A and RSP1A/B route switch processors, and accepts ASR 900 Series interface modules such as the A900-IMA8T, A900-IMA8T1Z and A900-IMA8S. The listed minimum IOS XE release for RSP3C with these interface modules is 3.18.0S.

Because the route switch processor and interface modules are selected separately, the chassis can be configured to suit the port types and processing needs of each aggregation site.
