Description

The ASR 9010 is a 10-slot, 21 RU modular carrier-class router chassis from the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, built for service provider edge and core routing, carrier transport, aggregation, and video and Ethernet service delivery. It suits central-office and NEBS environments with -48 VDC power, and runs Cisco IOS XR.

This DC variant uses PEM Version 2 and accepts -40 to -72 VDC input at 50 A nominal and 60 A maximum. It provides 8 line-card slots and 2 dedicated RSP slots, with dual redundant route switch processors and integrated nonblocking fabric. The chassis includes 2 DC PEMs, 2 fan trays with 12 variable-speed fans each, and a fan filter, with front-to-back airflow and vertical slot orientation. Supported DC power modules are 4.4 kW and 2.1 kW, with DC N+1 and A/B feed redundancy.

The chassis hardware carries no licence of its own. Features depend on the Cisco IOS XR software and feature licences ordered with the line cards and RSPs. It shares RSPs and line cards with the ASR 9006, 9904, 9906 and 9910 chassis, and 21 and 23 inch rack adapters are available for the default 19 inch mounting.

Q: Does the ASR-9010-DC-V2 need a licence?
A: The chassis hardware has no licence of its own. Features depend on the Cisco IOS XR software and feature licences ordered with the line cards and RSPs.

Q: What DC power does it require?
A: It takes -40 to -72 VDC input at 50 A nominal and 60 A maximum through 2 PEM Version 2 modules. DC N+1 redundancy with A/B feeds is supported.

Q: Can I mix AC and DC power modules?
A: No. AC and DC modules cannot be mixed in the same chassis. This SKU is the DC variant with PEM V2, while ASR-9010-AC-V2 is the AC equivalent.

Q: Which line cards and RSPs does it work with?
A: It takes ASR 9000 Series RSPs and line cards, which are shared with the ASR 9006, 9904, 9906 and 9910 chassis. It also uses the V2 fan trays and the ASR-9010-FILTER fan filter.
