Description

The ASR 9000 10-Slot Router Chassis is a 21 RU modular service-provider chassis from the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, built for carrier Ethernet, aggregation and edge roles. It suits NEBS-compliant, DC-powered central offices delivering L2VPN and L3VPN business services, IPTV, content delivery networks and mobile backhaul, and it runs Cisco IOS XR Software.

The chassis provides 10 vertical slots: 2 for dual redundant route switch processors with integrated nonblocking fabric, and 8 for line cards. This SKU is the DC-powered V1 chassis with DC power entry modules, taking -40 to -72 V DC input at 50 A nominal and 60 A maximum. It accepts 4.4 kW and 2.1 kW DC power modules with N+1 redundancy and A/B feed redundancy, and AC and DC modules cannot be mixed. Cooling is handled by two fan trays of 12 variable-speed fans each, with front-to-back airflow.

The chassis shares route switch processors, line cards and power entry modules with the ASR 9006, 9904, 9906 and 9910. Compatible fan trays are ASR-9010-FAN and ASR-9010-FAN-V2, with fan filter ASR-9010-FILTER. The chassis itself needs no licence, while software feature licensing depends on the route switch processors and line cards installed.
