Description

The ASR 9010 is a 10-slot, AC-powered chassis bundle from the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, a carrier-grade aggregation and edge router platform running Cisco IOS XR. It is built for service provider edge and aggregation roles, including Carrier Ethernet business services such as L2VPN and L3VPN, IPTV and content delivery.

This High-Scale bundle (HSBN2) is intended for deployments that need high multi-dimensional scale, such as large numbers of VRFs, IPv4 and IPv6 routes, BFD sessions and BGP NSR. High-scale configurations rely on the RSP with 8 GB memory (A9K-RSP-8G). Two redundant route switch processors occupy two slots, leaving the remaining slots for line cards. The chassis takes AC power supplies with a worldwide ranging input of 200-240V, 50-60 Hz, 16A nominal.

The platform shares route switch processors, line cards, power entry modules and power supplies with the ASR 9006. Both RSPs in a chassis must be the same version, either A9K-RSP-4G or A9K-RSP-8G.
