Description

The ASR 9006 is a 6-slot, 10 RU modular router chassis from the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, built for service provider edge and large enterprise aggregation. It suits Ethernet service delivery, carrier Ethernet, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN and high-density 1GE and 10GE aggregation.

This AC, PEM Version 2 variant provides two RSP slots and four line card slots in a horizontal orientation, with fabric integrated on the Route Switch Processor so no separate fabric cards are needed. System capacity is up to 240 Gbps. The Version 2 AC power system takes up to four 3 kW AC power modules with AC N+N redundancy and A/B feed redundancy, and accepts 200-240 V AC at 50-60 Hz. The chassis is designed to meet NEBS criteria and mounts in 19-inch EIA racks, adaptable to 23-inch and ETSI racks.

It works with ASR 9000 RSPs such as the RSP440 and RSP880, ASR 9000 line cards and the V2 fan trays. Version 3 power modules are not supported, and AC and DC power modules cannot be mixed in the same system. The chassis itself needs no licence, while IOS XR software features are licensed separately.
