Description

The ASR 9006 is a six-slot router chassis from the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, built for carrier-class aggregation and edge routing in service provider networks. It is the smaller sibling of the ASR 9010 and shares route switch processors, line cards, power entry modules and power supplies with it.

This SKU is the AC-powered version using the V1 power system, which takes A9K-3KW-AC power modules. Two of the six slots are used by redundant route switch processors (A9K-RSP-4G or A9K-RSP-8G, both of which must be the same version in a chassis), and the remaining slots hold line cards. The platform provides fabric, power supply, RSP and software redundancy, and is designed to meet NEBS Level 3.

Supported line cards include the A9K-24x10GE, A9K-2x100GE, A9K-MOD80, A9K-40GE and A9K-8T families, among others. The DC and V2 power variants are separate part numbers, so confirm the V1 AC power system suits your existing power shelf and spares.

A: The V1 AC power system uses A9K-3KW-AC power modules. The V2 power system uses PWR-3KW-AC-V2 and is sold under a different chassis part number.
