Description

The ASR 9000v-V2 is a satellite shelf that extends the control plane of a Cisco ASR 9000 Series host router. It suits access and aggregation port extension in carrier or ETSI-rack environments with DC power, such as central offices and telco sites, adding Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports without adding separately managed devices.

This SKU is the DC-powered ETSI chassis version with 44 Gigabit Ethernet access ports and 4 x 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. It has two redundant ETSI-compliant DC inputs (DC-A and DC-B), a front-accessed field-replaceable fan tray with filter, and 10-MHz and 1-PPS timing inputs. The 1U shelf measures 43.1 mm high and 231.1 mm deep, and is 482.6 mm wide, or 533.4 mm with the ETSI mounting ears.

The shelf operates as an nV satellite to ASR 9000 Series host routers running IOS XR and can be connected to multiple redundant hosts. The host router needs an ASR 9000 nV Host licence (A9K-NVSAT1-LIC, A9K-NVSAT5-LIC or A9K-NVSAT20-LIC, covering 1, 5 or 20 satellite clients). The spare fan tray part number is A9KV-V2-FAN.
