Description

The ASR 9000v V2 is a compact, environmentally hardened, front-access nV satellite shelf for the Cisco ASR 9000 Series. It extends the IOS XR services and control plane of the host router out to access locations, so remote points of presence, cabinets and non-temperature-controlled sites can be served without a standalone network element to manage.

This SKU is the DC ANSI chassis with 44 SFP ports at 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps and 4 SFP+ 10GE ports, with two redundant A/B DC feeds. It accepts -36V to -74V DC input and draws a nominal 120 W, 170 W at maximum. It is rated for operation from -40C to +65C and meets NEBS GR-1089 Issue 5 and GR-63 Issue 3. The 1RU chassis is 442 mm wide and weighs 4.22 kg.

The shelf operates only as a satellite of a Cisco ASR 9000 Series host running IOS XR 5.2.2 or later. Management is through the host's IOS XR CLI and management systems. The matching spare fan tray is A9KV-V2-FAN=.

FAQs

Q: Does the ASR 9000v V2 need its own licence?
A: No standalone licence is described for the satellite shelf. Its features and services come from the ASR 9000 Series host running IOS XR, and the satellite software images are managed through the host.

Q: What power does this SKU use?
A: This is the DC ANSI chassis with redundant A/B feeds. It accepts -36V to -74V DC and draws a nominal 120 W, up to 170 W at maximum.

Q: Can it be used as a standalone router?
