Description

The ASR 901S is a compact, fanless aggregation router built for cell-site and small cell backhaul. This DC-powered model uses an IP65-rated enclosure, so it can be mounted outdoors on walls, brackets and lampposts where a conventional router would not survive.

It combines 3x 1G SFP ports with a 1G RJ45 port for flexible copper and fibre connections. Passive cooling removes the fan as a point of failure, and the unit is designed for ambient operation from -40 to 65 C. Maximum power consumption is under 40 W without PoE+, and this DC variant is aimed at sites with DC power feeds. It scales to 32,000 MAC addresses and 4,000 bridge domains.

The software supports Layer 2, Layer 3 and MPLS deployment models, including MPLS L3VPN, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS and IPv6 routing, plus Carrier Ethernet OAM tools. This suits mobile operators and service providers aggregating small cells over Ethernet and IP transport.
