Description

The 8212-48FH-M-C is a fixed 2RU router from the Cisco 8200 Series, built on Cisco Silicon One with 19.2 Tbps of system bandwidth. It is aimed at AI data-center interconnect, high-density leaf and spine, data-center aggregation, provider core and internet peering roles where deep buffers and high port density matter.

The chassis provides 48 x 400GbE QSFP56-DD ports, or 24 x 800G QSFP-DD, with MACsec on all ports and a high-bandwidth memory (HBM) deep-buffer architecture. Ports can be configured for 800G, 400G, 100G, 40G, 25G or 10G, with breakout support to 2x 400G, 8x 100G, 4x 100G, 2x 100G, 4x 25G and 4x 10G. An Intel 6-core x86 CPU with 64 GB of DRAM and a 128 GB SSD runs Cisco IOS XR or the open-source SONiC network operating system. Redundancy comes from 1+1 AC or DC power supplies and N+1 fans, and PTP Class C timing supports precise synchronisation. This is a non-PoE system.

It accepts QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP56-DD, QSFP-DD800 and OSFP-800 pluggable optics, and is ready for Routed Optical Networking with 400G DCO optics. Software licences, Right-to-Use licences and Software Innovation Access subscription are ordered with the system.
