Description

The Cisco 8200 Series is a fixed-port, high-density core and aggregation router built for service provider and large data centre networks. Built around a single Q100 ASIC in a Router-on-Chip design, it suits aggregation, peering, core and Data Center Interconnect roles in a 2RU chassis running Cisco IOS XR.

This 8202-SYS variant provides 12 x 400GbE QSFP56-DD ports and 60 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports, giving 10.8 Tbps of network bandwidth. Port breakout options are supported. The system includes 2 power supplies with bidirectional airflow, an Intel Broadwell 4-core 2.4 GHz CPU with 32 GB DRAM, and a typical system power draw of 750 W at 10.8 Tbps. It is a non-PoE router.

The router accepts QSFP56-DD 400GbE and QSFP28 100GbE optics, with GPS, IEEE 1588 and BITS timing and synchronisation interfaces for carrier-grade deployments. Software licensing follows the Cisco IOS XR perpetual or Flexible Consumption models.
