Description

The Cisco 8100 Series 8101-32H is a fixed 1RU router built for top-of-rack and high-density leaf and spine roles in data centre and IP fabric networks. It uses a single Cisco Silicon One Q200 ASIC in a Router-on-Chip design, aimed at low-power, low-buffer, low-scale deployments.

This closed-software variant has 32 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports and 3.2 Tbps of bandwidth. It is the no-HBM model, which keeps power use down, with a typical system draw of 172 W at 3.2 Tbps. An Intel 4-core 2.4 GHz CPU and 16 GB of DRAM support the control plane. The chassis runs Cisco IOS XR with model-driven programmability APIs and has no PoE. All ports are 100G, so there are no separate uplink ports.

The QSFP28 cages accept 100G optics, DAC and AOC cabling. The open-software SONiC variant is a separate model, 8101-32H-O.
