Description

The SN6010C is a compact 1RU 16Gb Fibre Channel fabric switch for small, mid-size and large enterprise SANs. It suits entry-level departmental SANs, top-of-rack deployments and edge switching in larger fabrics.

This R0Q97A bundle has 12 active 16Gb ports populated with 12 x 16Gb short-wave SFP+ transceivers. Ports autosense 4/8/16 Gbps with 16 Gbps of dedicated bandwidth per port in a non-blocking architecture. The chassis can be expanded to 48 ports in 12-port steps with a licence upgrade, reaching up to 768 Gbps of aggregate bandwidth. It runs MDS 9000 NX-OS, with a minimum release of 6.2(9), and supports up to 32 VSANs and PortChannels of up to 16 ports. Power comes from up to two hot-swappable 300W AC power supplies with rear-to-front airflow.

For optics, it works with the 16Gb FC SW SFP+ (C8S72A), 16Gb FC LW SFP+ (C8S73A) and the 8Gb FC SFP+ SR (AJ906A) and LR (AJ907A). It interoperates with SN8000C, SN8500C and SN8700C directors and MDS 9100 and 9200 fabric switches.

Q: Can the switch be expanded beyond 12 ports?
A: Yes. The SN6010C can be expanded to 48 ports in 12-port steps using the SN6010C 12-port 16Gb FC Upgrade E-LTU (D4U60AAE).

Q: Which SFP+ optics does it use?
A: It uses the 16Gb FC SW SFP+ (C8S72A), 16Gb FC LW SFP+ (C8S73A), and the 8Gb FC SFP+ SR (AJ906A) and LR (AJ907A). This SKU is supplied with 12 x 16Gb short-wave SFP+ transceivers.

Q: Is any licensing needed for advanced features?
A: The base MDS 9000 NX-OS feature set is included. The SN6000C Enterprise Package E-LTU (A7515AAE) adds advanced services such as IVR, and Data Center Network Manager is available under separate licences.

Q: What power does it need?
