Description

The Cisco VG400 is an IOS XE-based analog voice gateway that connects analog phones, fax machines, modems and speakerphones to an IP telephony system such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager. It suits low- to medium-density sites where existing analog endpoints need to keep working alongside IP telephony, and where FXO ports are needed for PSTN trunk access.

This 2 FXS + 2 FXO model provides two FXS ports (RJ-11, ports 0 to 1) and two FXO ports (RJ-11, ports 2 to 3) in a fixed-port chassis. Both FXS ports are FXS-E enabled for extended loop lengths, and two FXO failover bypass ports let designated analog ports place PSTN calls during a power outage. It has up to two 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN ports, one USB 2.0 Type-A port and 4 GB of fixed DDR3 SDRAM. Power comes from a 100-240 VAC auto-ranging external supply with a 63 W draw and no PoE. On-board DSP handles echo cancellation, so no separate PVDM module is needed.

The VG400 runs Cisco IOS XE 16.10.1 or later and works with Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.0.1SU2 or later and CUCM Express. SIP and H.323 IP trunks support third-party call control, and it can also be managed as a VG4xx ATA in Webex Calling through Control Hub.
