Description

This 3.8TB E3.S 1T NVMe solid state drive is a storage option for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes, specifically the UCS X210c M8 Compute Node. It is built on the Kioxia CM7-R PCIe Gen 5 platform and suits read-intensive local storage for virtualisation, databases and secure or regulated workloads.

The drive offers 3.8TB of capacity in the hot-pluggable EDSFF E3.S 1T form factor and is rated at 1 drive write per day. It is a self-encrypting drive (SED) with a FIPS option, so data-at-rest protection is handled in hardware. Drives are supplied mounted in sleds for hot-plug installation.

The X210c M8 supports up to 9 E3.S drives through its front mezzanine, or up to 2 NVMe drives when the front mezzanine GPU module is fitted. A front mezzanine controller is required: the UCSX-X10C-PT4F-D NVMe pass-through controller, or the UCSX-X10C-RAIDF-D RAID controller where RAID is needed. RAID groups require two or more identical SSDs, while JBOD mode does not.
