Description

This 6.4TB E3.S 1T NVMe solid-state drive is built for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes. It is a hot-pluggable EDSFF drive that suits local, write-intensive storage for database, virtualisation, analytics and HCI (vSAN) workloads.

The drive uses a PCIe Gen5 NVMe interface and sits in the high-performance, high-endurance class, rated for up to 3 drive writes per day (3X DWPD). This SKU is the 6.4TB, 3X DWPD high-endurance variant, Kioxia KCD8XPJE-based. Drives are supplied mounted in a drive sled, and up to nine E3.S drives can be fitted per UCS X210c M8 compute node.

It requires an E3.S-capable front mezzanine passthrough controller in the compute node, such as the UCSX-X10C-PTE3. E3.S drives cannot be mixed with 2.5-inch SAS, SATA or U.3 drives on the E3.S passthrough controller, and the blanking panel UCSC-E3S1T-F covers any empty E3.S slots.
