Description

This 3.8TB EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe solid state drive is built for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes. It is a high-performance, medium-endurance (1X) Gen5 drive based on the Kioxia KCD8XPJE family, suited to local storage for virtualisation, database and other data-intensive workloads.

The drive uses a PCIe Gen5 NVMe interface and is hot-pluggable, mounted in a drive sled. The 3.8TB capacity and MedEnd 1X endurance rating make it a fit for read-intensive and mixed workloads. It is powered from the host UCS X-Series compute node, which draws from the Cisco UCS X9508 chassis power supplies, so no separate power supply is needed for the drive.

It is an orderable drive option for the Cisco UCS X210c M8 Compute Node and requires the UCSX-X10C-PTE3 E3.S pass-through front mezzanine controller. Up to nine E3.S drives can be installed per node, and they cannot be mixed with 2.5in SATA, SAS or U.3 drives on the same node.
