Description

The UCSX-NVE112T8S1P is a 12.8 TB hot-pluggable EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe solid state drive for Cisco UCS X-Series M8 compute nodes. Built on the Samsung PM1745 family, it is a PCIe Gen5 drive aimed at high-performance, high-endurance local storage in virtualisation, database, AI and analytics workloads, as well as vSAN or hyperconverged capacity and cache tiers.

This variant is the 12.8TB PM1745 High Endurance 3X model with TCG OPAL self-encrypting capability. The 3X endurance class suits write-intensive workloads, and the E3.S 1T form factor comes mounted in a sled for hot-plug installation and removal. There is no separate power supply, as the drive is powered from the compute node front mezzanine and drive backplane.

It is supported on Cisco UCS X210c M8 and UCS X215c M8 compute nodes and requires the UCSX-X10C-PTE3 E3.S pass-through front mezzanine controller. That controller supports up to 9 E3.S drives per X210c M8 node, and E3.S drives cannot be mixed with 2.5in SATA, SAS or U.3 drives. Empty slots use the UCSC-E3S1T-F blank filler. Drive firmware is delivered in Cisco UCS Manager and Intersight release bundles.
