Description

This 15.3TB (15.36TB) 2.5-inch U.3 NVMe SSD is built for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes, including the X210c M8 and X215c M8. It is based on the Micron 7500 high-performance, medium-endurance design and suits local NVMe storage for read-intensive to mixed workloads where FIPS-validated drive encryption is required.

The drive uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface in a 15mm U.3 form factor and is rated at 1X DWPD. As the FIPS self-encrypting (SED) variant, it is distinct from the non-FIPS UCSX-NVB15T3M2V and from the FIPS sibling capacities of 1.9TB, 3.8TB and 7.6TB. It is hot-pluggable and mounted in a Cisco UCS sled.

A front mezzanine is required to use it. The UCSX-X10C-PT4F-D pass-through controller supports up to 6 U.3 NVMe drives per X210c M8 node, while the UCSX-X10C-RAIDF-D RAID controller allows NVMe to be mixed with SAS and SATA SSDs. Unused slots should be fitted with UCSC-BBLKD-M7 2.5-inch blanking panels.
