Description

This NVIDIA ConnectX-7 based network interface card is a single-port 400GbE adapter built for Cisco UCS C-Series M7 and M8 rack servers. It is aimed at AI/ML, HPC and data-centre workloads where high-bandwidth 400GbE or InfiniBand-capable connectivity is needed, in a compact half-height, half-length, single-slot form factor.

The card provides one QSFP112 port and connects to the host over a PCIe Gen5 x16 interface for 400G line-rate connectivity. It is a VPI (Virtual Protocol Interconnect) NIC, so it supports both Ethernet and InfiniBand operation. This is the Cisco-branded SKU, separate from the OEM-branded UCSC-P-N7S400GFO variant.

It is supported in Cisco UCS C220 M7, C240 M7, C245 M8 and C240 M8 servers and can be managed through Cisco Intersight. On the C240 M8 it installs in Riser 1, 2 or 3, with up to three cards per server. CPUs above 330W TDP and 256GB DIMMs are not supported with this card on the C240 M8, and 128GB DIMMs are limited to 1DPC.
