Description

The UCS-NVE13T8S1V is a 3.8 TB solid state drive in the E3.S 1T EDSFF form factor, built for Cisco UCS M8 rack servers. It is a Samsung PM1743-based, high performance, medium endurance drive with TCG Opal 2.0 self-encryption, suited to a fast storage tier for virtualisation, databases and analytics.

The drive connects over PCIe 5.0 x4 using NVMe, delivering up to 14,000 MBps sequential read and 6,000 MBps sequential write. Random 4 KB performance reaches 2,500,000 read IOPS and 280,000 write IOPS at PCIe 5.0. Endurance is rated at 1 DWPD for 5 years, equal to 7008 TB written, with an MTBF of 2,500,000 hours. Typical power draw is about 20.9 W read and 21.2 W write, supplied by the server E3.S backplane. No licence or subscription is required.

This SKU is listed as a drive option in the Cisco UCS C220 M8 EDSFF E3.S rack server, and in the HyperFlex C220 M8 E3.S and C240 M8 E3.S vSAN configurations. Features include power-loss protection, end-to-end data protection, Fail-In-Place technology and SSD virtualisation with SR-IOV support.
