Description

This 3.8 TB hot-pluggable E3.S NVMe solid state drive is designed for Cisco UCS M8 servers. It suits enterprise, virtualisation and data-intensive workloads that need fast local storage in a compact EDSFF form factor.

The drive uses the E3.S 1T form factor with a PCIe Gen5 (5.0) NVMe interface. It is built on the Kioxia KCD8XPJE and sits in the high-performance, medium-endurance (1X) tier, which makes it the 3.8 TB option in its family alongside 1.9 TB, 7.6 TB and 15.3 TB capacities. Drives are mounted in sleds for hot-swap installation.

In the UCS X210c M8 Compute Node, E3.S drives are driven through the UCSX-X10C-PTE3 NVMe pass-through front mezzanine controller, which supports up to nine E3.S drives. E3.S drives cannot be mixed with 2.5 inch SAS, SATA or U.3 drives in the same node. Unpopulated E3.S slots take the UCSC-E3S1T-F blank.
