Description

This 3.2TB EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe solid state drive is built for Cisco UCS X-Series compute nodes, such as the X210c M8. It is a Gen5, high-performance, high-endurance (3X) drive based on the KCD8XPJE (Kioxia) model, aimed at write-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads that need fast local flash storage.

Key figures: 3.2TB capacity, PCIe Gen5 NVMe interface, E3.S form factor, and a high-endurance 3X rating. The SIE SCEF security option provides self-encrypting drive capability. The drive is hot-pluggable and is mounted in a drive sled.

In a UCS X210c M8 compute node, E3.S drives require the UCS X10c Compute Pass Through Controller for E3.S (UCSX-X10C-PTE3) in the front mezzanine slot. That controller supports up to 9 E3.S drives per node, and E3.S drives cannot be mixed with 2.5in SATA, SAS or U.3 drives.
