Description

This 12.8TB EDSFF E3.S 1T NVMe solid state drive is built for Cisco UCS servers and sits in the Cisco UCS server storage range. It is a high performance, high endurance drive aimed at write-intensive enterprise workloads such as databases, virtualisation, AI/ML and analytics.

The drive uses a PCI Express 5.0 NVMe interface in the hot-swappable E3.S 1T form factor, and is based on the KCD8XPJE platform from Kioxia. Endurance is rated at 3X drive writes per day, which separates it from the 1X DWPD medium-endurance drives in the same family. Self-encrypting security options (SIE, SCEF) are indicated in the product description. Other capacities in the 3X DWPD family are 1.6TB, 3.2TB and 6.4TB.

In the Cisco UCS X210c M8 compute node, NVMe drives of this type are used with the UCSX-X10C-PT4F-D pass-through controller or the UCSX-X10C-RAIDF-D RAID front mezzanine. Empty E3.S slots can be filled with the UCSC-E3S1T-F blanking panel.
