Description

This 960 GB enterprise NVMe solid state drive is built for Cisco UCS C-Series rack servers. It uses a 2.5-inch, 15 mm U.3 form factor and is based on the Micron XTR drive, a High Performance, Extreme Endurance (60X) class device aimed at write-intensive server workloads such as write caching, logging and high-IOPS tiers.

The drive uses a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe interface and is rated for up to 60 sequential drive writes per day and 35 random drive writes per day. Random write performance reaches up to 250,000 IOPS, and mixed 70/30 random read/write performance reaches up to 550,000 IOPS. The base Micron XTR drive uses 176-layer 3D TLC NAND and has an MTTF of 2.5 million hours. This variant is the 960 GB capacity with Micron XTR extreme-endurance 60X characteristics.

It is listed as a U.3 NVMe drive option in the Cisco UCS C225 M8 SFF rack server spec sheet and is intended for 2.5-inch U.3/U.2 NVMe drive bays on supported Cisco UCS C-Series M8 servers. Its firmware is carried in the Cisco UCS C-Series server firmware bundle, so the drive is qualified and maintained within the UCS firmware stream.
