Description

This Cisco UCS 1.92TB U.3 NVMe solid state drive is built on Micron XTR media and sits in the Cisco UCS C-Series and X-Series NVMe storage range. It is a high-performance, extreme-endurance (60X) drive aimed at write-intensive logging, read and write caching, and tiered-storage acceleration in data centre servers.

The drive uses a 2.5-inch small form factor at 15 mm height with a U.3 NVMe interface and is hot-pluggable, supplied in a drive sled. The Micron XTR 1.92 TB is specified for a PCIe 4.0 x4 link and a maximum operating temperature of 70 C. Power is drawn from the server drive backplane, so no separate supply is needed. Within its range this part is the 1.92TB, Micron XTR, Extreme Endurance 60X variant.

It is listed in the Cisco UCS C225 M8 SFF rack server specification as a selectable NVMe drive. U.3 drives are used with the Cisco 24G Tri-mode RAID controller and NVMe hardware RAID, and U.3 drives in slots 1 to 4 can run in U.2 mode attached directly to the CPU, with the mode changeable in Cisco IMC. SFF NVMe drives boot in UEFI mode only.
