Description

This 48GB DDR5-6400 registered DIMM (RDIMM) is a memory module from the Cisco UCS Intel M8 memory range. It is built for Cisco UCS C220 M8 and C240 M8 rack servers powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, and suits memory population or expansion for virtualisation, database and general data-centre workloads.

The module is a single-rank 1Rx4 design using 24Gb DRAM, which gives the non-binary 48GB capacity, and runs at 1.1 V. DDR5-6400 MT/s is supported at one DIMM per channel with Intel Xeon 6 CPUs. Up to 8 DIMMs can be installed per CPU, populating slots A1 to H1 (the blue slots), so a 2-CPU server reaches 768GB with 16 x 48GB modules. The x4 organisation supports the SDDC and ADDDC RAS features.

The UCS- prefix identifies the C-Series rack server part. The same module is offered as UCSX-MRX48G1RF5 for the X210c M8 compute node. It is not supported on the X410c M8, and 48GB DIMMs cannot be mixed with other DIMM capacities or with 16Gb or 32Gb DRAM-based DIMMs.

Q: Which Cisco UCS servers does this memory module work with?
A: It is an option for Cisco UCS C220 M8 and C240 M8 rack servers with Intel Xeon 6 CPUs. The X210c M8 compute node uses the equivalent UCSX-MRX48G1RF5 part number. It is not supported on the X410c M8.

Q: How many of these DIMMs can I install per CPU?
A: A maximum of 8 per CPU at one DIMM per channel, in slots A1 to H1 (the blue slots). That means 8 modules in a 1-CPU server and 16 in a 2-CPU server, giving 384GB per CPU.

Q: Can I mix this 48GB DIMM with other memory capacities?
A: No. 48GB DIMMs cannot be mixed with any other memory DIMMs. DIMMs based on 24Gb DRAM also cannot be mixed with 16Gb or 32Gb DRAM-based DIMMs.

Q: What speed does it run at?
A: It runs at DDR5-6400 MT/s at one DIMM per channel with Intel Xeon 6 CPUs. The 48GB capacity supports 1DPC only.

Q: Does it support the Cisco UCS RAS memory features?
