FAQs

Q: Does this switch include stacking hardware?
A: No, the C9200L-48PXG-2Y-M does not include stacking ports by default. You must order the C9200L-STAK-KIT-M accessory for each switch you plan to stack. The kit includes two stacking adapters and a 50cm stacking cable.

Q: What licensing is required for the Catalyst 9200L-M?
A: The C9200L-M requires Meraki cloud licensing, available in Enterprise or Advanced tiers with 1, 3, or 5-year terms. Advanced licensing enables features like Adaptive Policy, NetFlow v10, and Encrypted Traffic Analytics. The license is required for the switch to operate.

Q: Can I migrate this switch from cloud to on-premises management?
A: Yes, the C9200L-M provides operational flexibility to migrate from Meraki cloud management to on-premises management with Catalyst Center or CLI at any point during the product lifecycle.

Q: What is the maximum PoE budget and how many ports support multigigabit speeds?
A: The switch provides 740W PoE+ with the included 1000W power supply, or up to 1440W with an optional secondary power supply. Eight ports support multigigabit speeds up to 10G, while 40 ports support standard Gigabit Ethernet. All 48 ports support PoE+ (802.3at).

Q: What cabling is recommended for multigigabit operation?
A: While Cat5e cables can support multigigabit speeds up to 10Gbps, Category 6a cabling is strongly recommended for reliable multigigabit operations as it mitigates alien crosstalk by design, especially in bundled or longer cable installations.
