Description

The C8455-G2-MX is a Cisco Secure Router running Meraki MX OS and managed from the Meraki dashboard. It delivers SD-WAN, firewall and security services for large campus sites, and doubles as a VPN concentrator or SD-WAN hub for large VPN networks.

The WAN side has 2x 25G SFP28 ports, backed by 2x 10G SFP+ LAN/WAN convertible ports and 8x 1G SFP LAN ports. Maximum NGFW throughput is 20 Gbps, with 10 Gbps of site-to-site VPN throughput and 8 Gbps of advanced security throughput. It is rated for a recommended 15,000 devices and up to 3,500 tunnels. It is a 1U rack-mount unit with 2x 250W AC power supplies for redundancy, and a Meraki MX licence is required for operation.

Genuine Meraki and Cisco optics work across the port types, including SFP-25G-SR-S, SFP-10/25G-CSR-S and SFP-10/25G-LR-S on the 25G ports, MA-SFP-10GB-SR/LR/LRM/ER on the 10G ports, and MA-SFP-1GB-TX and MA-SFP-1GB-LX10 on the 1G ports. Twinax and AOC cables are supported on the 25G and 10G ports.
