Description

The Meraki MX450 is a cloud-managed 1U security and SD-WAN appliance built for large campuses, distributed enterprise sites and data-centre VPN concentration. It combines a stateful firewall, intrusion prevention, content filtering and Auto VPN in a single device managed entirely from the Meraki Dashboard.

The MX450 provides 6 Gbps of firewall throughput with 2 x 10GbE SFP+ WAN ports and a LAN side of 8 x 10GbE SFP+, 8 x 1GbE SFP and 8 x 1GbE RJ45 ports. A dedicated RJ45 management port and a USB port for 3G/4G cellular failover are included. A 128 GB SSD cache and dual hot-swappable 250 W AC power supplies support resilience, and two units can be deployed as an HA pair. This MX450-HW SKU is the hardware appliance and requires a Meraki cloud licence to operate.

It is recommended for deployments of up to roughly 10,000 users or devices, and it works as an Auto VPN hub for branch connectivity. The 10GbE ports take SFP+ modules and the 1GbE SFP ports take SFP modules.
