Description

The Catalyst IE3500 Heavy Duty (IE3500H) is an IP66/IP67 rated industrial Ethernet switch built for harsh operational technology environments. This IE3505H variant suits rail and transportation, utilities and substations, manufacturing and machine vision, and outdoor or washdown deployments that need a sealed, wall-mounted switch.

It provides 16 x 10/100/1000 M12 X-code Ethernet ports with line-rate forwarding on every port, and no PoE budget. Advanced features include PRP, HSR and DLR lossless redundancy, which are exclusive to IE3505H variants. Power is 12-48 VDC through a single Mini-Change input, drawing 45 W, with an operating range of -40 C to +75 C. This SKU ships with the perpetual Network Essentials software licence, with an upgrade to Network Advantage available separately.

The switch can be managed through Catalyst Center, the WebUI or the CLI, and supports SD-Access Extended Node. All 16 ports are M12 X-code copper, with no SFP slots. Related accessories include the CAB-CONSOLE-M12= console cable and the SD-IE-16GB SD card.

FAQs

Q: Which software licence does this SKU ship with?
A: It ships with the perpetual Network Essentials licence, as indicated by the -E suffix. An upgrade to Network Advantage is available via IE3500-NW-A=.

Q: Does this switch provide PoE?
A: No. This is a non-PoE model with no PoE budget, so powered devices need their own power source.

A: It runs from a 12-48 VDC input through a single Mini-Change connector, with a typical consumption of 45 W.

Q: Does it have SFP uplink ports?
A: No. All 16 ports are M12 X-code copper Gigabit ports, and there are no SFP slots on this SKU.

Q: What makes the IE3505H variant different from other IE3500H models?
A: The IE3505H variants add lossless redundancy support through PRP, HSR and DLR, which is not available on other IE3500H models.

Q: How do I connect to the console port?
