Description

The Catalyst IE3500 Heavy Duty (IE3500H) series is built for harsh industrial and OT networks such as rolling stock, vehicles, and factory or outdoor deployments. This model is a ruggedised, IP66/IP67-rated switch that connects PLCs, IP cameras, machine vision systems and legacy Fast Ethernet devices in dusty or wet locations.

It provides 24 M12 ports: 20 x 100/10M D-code Fast Ethernet and 4 x 1000/100/10M X-code Gigabit, all forwarding at line rate. There is no PoE on this model, and it has no SFP ports. It runs from a 12-48 VDC input through a single Mini-Change power connector, drawing 42 W. Operating temperature is -40 to +75 C with 200 LFM airflow, and it is also certified to UL 50E Type 4X. It ships with the perpetual Network Essentials software tier, with an upgrade path to Network Advantage.

Optional accessories include the SD-IE-16GB SD card, the CAB-CONSOLE-M12= console cable and Catalyst Center management. The unit is wall mounted and weighs 6.30 kg.

FAQs

Q: Which software tier does this switch ship with?
A: It ships with the perpetual Network Essentials tier. You can upgrade to Network Advantage with the IE3500-NW-A= licence.

Q: Does this model provide PoE?
A: No. This is a non-PoE model, so connected devices need their own power. The switch itself runs from a 12-48 VDC input through a single Mini-Change connector.

Q: Does it have SFP uplinks?
A: No. All 24 ports are M12: 20 x Fast Ethernet D-code and 4 x Gigabit X-code.

Q: Does it support PRP, HSR or DLR?
A: No. Those lossless redundancy protocols are limited to IE3505H variants. This model supports REP, REP Fast and PROFINET MRP for resiliency.

Q: How does it differ from other IE3500H models?
A: This SKU combines 20 Fast Ethernet D-code and 4 Gigabit X-code M12 ports with no PoE and Network Essentials licensing.
