Description

The Cisco Secure Firewall 4225 is a 1RU high-performance next-generation firewall from the Secure Firewall 4200 Series, built for data centre, campus and enterprise edge deployments. FPR4225-K9 is the chassis SKU with dual AC power supplies, fan modules and 2 x 1.8 TB SSD storage, making it a practical like-for-like replacement for an existing 4225 unit.

The 4225 delivers 80 Gbps of NGFW throughput (firewall with AVC and IPS, 1024B) and 95 Gbps of ASA stateful inspection throughput. It supports up to 30 million concurrent sessions with AVC, 600 K new connections per second, 30 Gbps of TLS hardware decryption and 80 Gbps of IPsec VPN throughput. Fixed connectivity is 8 x 1/10/25GbE SFP28 data ports plus 2 x 1/10/25GbE SFP28 management ports, with two network module slots for further expansion. It runs Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense or ASA software, supports 15 Multi-Instance instances, active/active and active/standby high availability, and clustering of up to 16 chassis.

The network module slots accept 1G copper, 10G SFP+, 25G SFP28, 40G QSFP+, 100G QSFP28, 200G QSFP28 and 400G QSFP-DD module options. Advanced security functions such as IPS, Malware Defense and URL Filtering are delivered through Cisco smart-licensed subscriptions, managed through Firewall Management Center or Cisco Defense Orchestrator.
