Description

The Firepower 4215 is the entry model of the Secure Firewall 4200 Series, a 1RU high-end firewall built for large enterprises, data centres and service providers. This FPR4215-K9 is the spare chassis part number for the platform, with two network module (NetMod) bays for adding interfaces up to 400G.

The fixed I/O is 8 x 1/10/25 Gigabit Ethernet SFP28 ports plus 2 x 1/10/25 GbE SFP28 management ports. Running Secure Firewall Threat Defense, it delivers 65 Gbps of NGFW throughput (firewall, AVC and IPS at 1024B), 15 million concurrent sessions and 350K new connections per second. On ASA software the stateful inspection throughput is 90 Gbps (1500B UDP), with 40 million concurrent connections. Two 1.8 TB SSDs handle event storage and malware analysis, and up to 16 chassis can be clustered.

The 4215 is suited to NGFW, dedicated IPS, high-throughput VPN, SSL decryption and multi-instance deployments with up to 10 instances. Compatible network modules include 1G copper, 10G SFP+, 25G SFP28, 40G QSFP+, 100G QSFP28 and 400G QSFP-DD options, including fail-to-wire variants.
