Description

The Cisco Secure Firewall 1250 is a 1U rack-mount security appliance from the Secure Firewall 1200 Series, supplied with the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) software image. It suits branch offices and larger branch sites that need stateful firewalling and IPsec/SSL VPN with direct internet connectivity.

This ASA-image SKU provides 8x 2.5GBASE-T Multigigabit Ethernet ports and 4x SFP+ slots supporting 1G and 10G. Stateful inspection firewall throughput is 20 Gbps and IPsec VPN throughput is 24 Gbps (450B UDP). It handles 1M concurrent connections, 550K new connections per second and up to 1,500 VPN peers. A field-replaceable 960GB SSD is fitted, and power comes from a single integrated AC supply with a maximum draw of 88 W.

ASA-image appliances use Cisco Smart Licensing, with a free Base licence plus optional Encryption, Security Contexts and Carrier licences. The 4x SFP+ slots accept a wide range of 1G and 10G transceivers, and the CSF1200-SSD960= is the matching replacement SSD for 1U models. The same hardware is also offered with Threat Defense software as CSF1250-TD-K9.
