Description

The Cisco 8404 is a 4RU, 4.8 Tbps centralized-architecture router chassis built on the Cisco Silicon One K100 NPU, supplied here in the DC PEM configuration. It is designed for mobile IP RAN and xHaul, residential and business service aggregation, and remote POP deployments. The chassis supports up to two Route Switch Processors in active-standby, two DC Power Entry Modules in 1+1 redundancy and six Modular Port Adapter positions, with all FRUs and cabling accessible from the front. It runs Cisco IOS XR software, and RSPs, DC PEMs and port adapters are ordered separately.
