For links approaching 10km, verify the combined path loss does not exceed the module's optical power budget.

Q: How do I access the digital diagnostic monitoring data?
A: The module implements SFF-8472 DDM with I2C address A2h. Your switch or NOS can read real-time values for transmit optical power, receive optical power, laser bias current, supply voltage, and module temperature. These parameters allow you to detect weak signals, monitor link degradation, and verify optical power levels without external test equipment.

Q: Can I use this module with multi-mode fibre or at wavelengths other than 1310nm?
A: No. This is a 1310nm single-mode transceiver designed for OS1/OS2 9/125um fibre. It will not function correctly with OM3, OM4, or other multi-mode fibres due to modal dispersion and core size mismatch. The receiver and transmitter are optimised for 1310nm operation only and cannot be used with 850nm, 1550nm, or BiDi wavelength schemes.
