Description

The MQM8510-H is a 40-port HDR 200Gb/s InfiniBand leaf blade from the NVIDIA Quantum CS8500 series. It installs in the CS8500 liquid-cooled modular director chassis, which scales to 800 HDR ports, and is aimed at HPC, AI, cloud and hyperscale data centres that need a high-density, high-availability InfiniBand fabric.

The blade provides 40 QSFP56 ports running at HDR 200Gb/s, with support for HDR100 port-split at 100Gb/s per port. It is a leaf blade, so it is distinct from the MQM8520-H spine blade. The blade is hot-swappable and is powered from the chassis backplane. Across a fully populated CS8500 chassis the system delivers 800 HDR ports, or 1,600 HDR100 ports, with 320Tb/s aggregate throughput. The chassis is managed through MLNX-OS via the MMB8500 management module and is compatible with the NVIDIA UFM fabric management platform.

It connects with QSFP56 passive copper DAC, active fibre cables or optical modules. The CS8500 chassis requires one MMB8500 management module and either a CDU (900-00796) or an AHX-22KW-350MM heat exchanger for liquid cooling. This blade is not a standalone fixed-configuration switch.

Q: Can the MQM8510-H be used as a standalone switch?
A: No. It is a leaf blade that installs in the NVIDIA Quantum CS8500 modular director chassis and cannot operate on its own.
