Description

The Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXVDA2 is a dual-port 10/25GbE SFP28 network interface card in the Intel Ethernet 800 Series, built on the Intel Ethernet Controller E810-XXV AM2. This Cisco PID is the half-height, half-length, single-slot option card for the UCS XE130c M8 compute node in the UCS XE9305 chassis. It suits cloud, enterprise and storage workloads, along with communications, NFV and 5G RAN deployments.

Each of the two SFP28 ports runs at 25GbE or 10GbE over a PCIe 4.0 x8 host interface. RDMA is supported through both iWARP and RoCEv2 with 256K queue pairs, and the controller provides up to 256 SR-IOV virtual functions, 2048 Tx and 2048 Rx queues, and IEEE 1588 PTP v1/v2 timestamping. The card is bus-powered, drawing a maximum of 9.8 W with DACs or 13.7 W with optics. No licence or subscription is required for the adapter itself.

It installs in the left PCIe riser (S2) of the XE130c M8 and requires the UCSXE-1U-PCI-L Left PCIe Riser, with a maximum of one PCIe adapter per compute node. Supported physical layers include 25GBASE-CR, 25GBASE-SR, 25GBASE-LR, SFP+ Twinax, 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR.

FAQs

Q: Does this network card need a licence or subscription?
A: No. The adapter itself does not require a licence or subscription.

Q: Which server does this card install in?
A: It is the PCIe option card for the Cisco UCS XE130c M8 compute node in the UCS XE9305 chassis. It fits the left PCIe riser (S2) and needs the UCSXE-1U-PCI-L Left PCIe Riser, with a maximum of one PCIe adapter per compute node.

Q: Which Cisco optics and cables work with it?
A: Cisco-tested options include SFP-25G-SR-S, SFP-10/25G-CSR-S, SFP-10/25G-LR-S, SFP-10G-SR/SR-S, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-25G-AOC10M, SFP-10G-AOC7M, SFP-H25G-CU1M/2M/3M/5M, SFP-H10GB-CU1M/3M/5M and QSFP-4SFP25G-CU1M/2M/3M. RS-FEC must be enabled for 2M, 3M and 5M 25G DACs.

Q: How much power does the card draw?
A: It is bus-powered from the PCIe slot. At 25GbE maximum traffic it draws up to 9.8 W with DACs or 13.7 W with optics, which includes up to 1.5 W per SFP28 optic.

Q: Does it support RDMA?
A: Yes. It supports RDMA through both iWARP and RoCEv2, with 256K queue pairs, which suits NVMe over Fabrics and low-latency storage workloads.
