Description

The Cisco-Intel E810CQDA2 is a dual-port 100GbE network adapter built on the Intel Ethernet Controller E810 from the Intel Ethernet 800 Series. This UCSXE- part number is the half-height, half-length, single-slot variant for the Cisco UCS XE130c M8 compute node in Cisco Unified Edge. It suits cloud and edge workloads, NFV, 5G RAN and communications deployments, HPC and AI, and bare-metal, virtualised or containerised environments.

Each of the two QSFP28 ports runs at 100, 50, 25 or 10GbE, with 1GbE planned for a future release. The Ethernet Port Configuration Tool can reconfigure the card as 1x100GbE, 2x50GbE, 4x25GbE, 4x10GbE or 8x10GbE. The host interface is PCIe 4.0 x16, and the card supports RDMA over both iWARP and RoCEv2, SR-IOV with up to 256 Virtual Functions, Application Device Queues and Dynamic Device Personalization. Typical power draw is 16.9 W with DACs and 20.8 W with 3.5 W optics at 100GbE. No licence or subscription is required for the adapter itself.

The card installs in the left PCIe riser (S2) of the UCS XE130c M8. Cisco-tested connectivity includes QSFP-100G-AOC7M and AOC10M, QSFP-100G-CU1M to CU5M DACs, QSFP-4SFP25G breakout cables and QSFP-100G-SR4-S optics.

FAQs

Q: Does this adapter need a licence or subscription?
A: No. The adapter itself does not require a licence or subscription.

Q: Where does this card install?
A: It is the half-height, half-length, single-slot variant for the Cisco UCS XE130c M8 compute node and installs in the left PCIe riser (S2).

Q: How is the card powered?
A: It is powered from the PCIe slot. It draws 16.9 W typical with DACs or 20.8 W typical with 3.5 W optics at 100GbE, with maximums of 19.2 W and 27.1 W.

Q: Which optics and cables has Cisco tested with it?
A: Cisco-tested options include QSFP-100G-AOC7M and AOC10M, QSFP-100G-CU1M, CU2M, CU3M and CU5M, QSFP-4SFP25G-CU1M, CU2M and CU3M, QSFP-100G-SR4-S, QSFP-40/100-SRBD and QSFP-100G-SR1.2. The 2M and 3M DACs need RS-FEC enabled.

Q: Can the ports be split into lower-speed links?
