Description

The Cisco Assurance SFP is a 1G copper smart SFP transceiver with a built-in FPGA for service activation testing and performance monitoring. It is built for service providers handling mobile backhaul, Carrier Ethernet and IP service deployments, where it handles service demarcation and SLA assurance without extra rack-mounted test equipment.

This SKU is the 100/1000BASE-T copper variant with an RJ-45 interface, supporting Cat5/6 cabling up to 100 m. It has an industrial temperature range of -40 to 85 C and draws 3.0 W from the host SFP port. The PTP variant of the family is excluded from this SKU. The module measures 8.5 x 13.4 x 63 mm and is managed through Cisco Crosswork Assurance, which also handles firmware updates, provisioning and reporting.

The module supports active Layer 2-4 traffic generation and measurement, including RFC2544 and Y.1564 service activation tests and TWAMP, ETH-DM, ETH-LB and Y.1731 OAM performance monitoring. Check the Cisco Transceiver Module Group (TMG) Compatibility Matrix for host platform support.
