Description

The Cisco 400G QSFP112 Transceiver Module is a 400 Gigabit Ethernet optic that runs over duplex single-mode fibre with LC connectors. It multiplexes four 100G PAM4 wavelengths onto a single fibre pair, so existing duplex fibre infrastructure can carry 400G without moving to parallel optics. It suits AI/ML back-end and front-end networks, cloud networking, and high-density data centre leaf and spine fabrics.

This SKU is the 400GBASE-FR4 variant, with a reach of 2 km over G.652 single-mode fibre at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm. The high-speed electrical interface is 400GAUI-4, with average transmit power of -3.2 to 4.4 dBm per lane and a maximum supported insertion loss of 4 dB. Power consumption is 9 W maximum, drawn from the host port, and no licence or subscription is required. Forward error correction is performed on the host platform. It operates from 0 to 70 C and weighs up to 100 g.

The module fits 400G QSFP112 ports, primarily on server NICs from Cisco and other manufacturers. It interoperates with QDD-400G-FR4-S and QDD-400G-LR4-S at 2 km over single-mode fibre. Check the Cisco TMG Compatibility Matrix for validated hosts and NICs.
